Book Review #7: City Spies by James Ponti

City Spies is not like the other books I have reviewed so far in that it is meant for younger ages rather than the more mature ages. This of course, is not to say that City Spies doesn't have as good themes or plots or characters. It is an amazing book, that is also a series, that is perfect for readers who are looking for an easier book to take a break from the more heavier topic ones. The plot was well written in that, it was what you would expect from a spy novel and more. Its characters were well-written and easily relatable on a day-to-day basis. I think my favorite part was how easy the characters connected to each other.

The plot itself was also very well-written. You could see what would happen, but there were also surprises that made the book both surprising and predictable. Either way, I really enjoyed this book when I was young and continued to collect the books in the series as they came out.

Some themes: Family, Fitting in, Coming of Age.

    Overall book rating: 10/10
