Book Review #9: The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

The Hunger Games is an iconic book, if you haven't at least heard about it, you are living under a rock. It's hard to choose a specific part to say is really well-written, but a great one is setting. It's not often in books that the setting is important and unique, but Hunger Games has one of the best examples. From the twelve districts, each with their own environment, to the arena, with quite a few different environments of its own. They all have detailed descriptions that allow the reader to perfectly envision what Collins had in mind.

Truly its incredibly hard to explain how amazing this book is, the setting is just one component that brings it all together. The theme of societal inequality was also something I really enjoyed reading about, though a common topic, Collins writes it wonderfully mixing in all sorts of plot devices.

Some themes: Hypocrisy, Appearances, Control, Societal inequality.

    Overall book rating: 10/10
